MOBILE HOME BURNS IN BOTETOURT

A double-wide mobile home burned to the ground Saturday night in Botetourt County off Houston Miles Road.

Troutville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Greg Sleboda said the trailer was engulfed in flames when Troutville, Buchanan and Blue Ridge firefighters arrived just before 8 p.m.

Sleboda said no people were inside the trailer, but that a dog died in the fire.

"It's a total loss," he said. "Due to [the trailer's] location, nobody saw it until flames were already coming out of all the windows."

Saturday night, fire officials were still trying to determine who owns the trailer.

Sleboda said the cause of the blaze had not been determined, but fire officials believe it could be tied to either a kerosene heater or a wood stove.
