ROANOKE RUNNER 3RD IN CHARLOTTE

In Charlotte, N.C., Roanoke's Sue Givens placed third in the women's masters 10K as part of the Charlotte Observer Marathon.

Givens, 40, finished in a time of 39 minutes, 26 seconds and collected $200. She finished 80th in the women's division of the 1993 New York City Marathon.
