OBIT-SUTPHIN, ROYAL PAUL

SUTPHIN, Royal Paul, 83, of Roanoke, died Friday, January 7, 1994 in a local hospital. He was a retired employee of the Roanoke City Department of Parks and Recreation. Surviving are his wife, Bessie L. Sutphin; two daughters, Pauline Harless, Blacksburg, Opal Hale, Montvale; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances Jones, Shawsville. Services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel by the Rev. Wilford E. Long. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke.
