OBIT WILLIAMS, OLIE LEE JR.

WILLIAMS, Olie Lee Jr., ("Jack"), 76, of the Maybrook Community near Pembroke, died Sunday, January 9, 1994, in a Pearisburg hospital. Born in Giles County, Va., April 30, 1917, he was the son of the late Olie and Mary Bonds Williams. Jack was a member of the Newport-Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, a self-employed merchant and an employee of Hoechst-Celanese Celco Plant. He was preceded in death by a sister,Maxine Hall and two brothers, Everett Williams and Marvin Williams. Surviving are his wife, Georgia Habernigg Williams; one son, Ron Williams of Congers, Ga.; one brother, John Williams of Narrows; two sisters, Alice Whitmire of Roanoke, and Susie Slackmon of Staffordsville, and a special sister-in-law, Virginia Williams of Pembroke. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 11, 1994, 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel in Pembroke, Va. Entombment will be in Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 to 9. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New River Hospice or Newport-Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.
