OBIT SWISHER, HARRY EVERETT

SWISHER, Harry Everett, 75, of Lexington, died Sunday, January 9, 1994 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Swisher was born February 19, 1918 in Rockbridge County a son of the late William Henry Swisher and Grace Staton Swisher. He was retired from the Virginia National Guard in Staunton, a member of the V.F.W. Post #1499, the American Legion Post #126, a past member of the Lexington Moose Lodge #1700. Mr. Swisher was also a member of the Lauderdale A.R.P. Church and was preceded in death by his wife Isabel Crist Swisher and a brother W. Henry Swisher. Surviving are five children, Patsy S. Paxton, Lexington, Brenda S. Rhodenizer, Charlottesville, Fontanne S. Bostic, Lexington, Harry E. Swisher Jr., Lexington, Sharon S. Peebles, Lexington; one brother, P. Marshall Swisher, Lexington; nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 1994 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Zeb Carson Williams and Dr. Thomas G. Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
