Senior wing Dyer Jackson hit three 3-pointers among his 16 first-quarter points as Fort Chiswell surged to a 30-16 lead and cruised to a 93-71 Mountain Empire District boys' basketball victory over Narrows.

Jackson finished with 21 points. Brad Hughes and Jody Burnett added 19 points each, and T.J. King had 12 for the Pioneers (1-5 overall, 1-4 Mountain Empire).

Patrick Bailey scored 21 points to lead the Green Wave, Jeff White had 18 and Brian Privett had 15. \

CHRISTIANSBURG - The Vikings won the middle two quarters 36-16 to hand the Demons a non-district loss.

Dana Gibson had 17 points, Chad Brammer 13 and Nathan Hungate 11 for Northside.

Christiansburg (3-3) got 17 points from Denny Self.

MONETA - The Golden Eagles erased a six-point halftime deficit to win a Seminole District game.

Cornelius Foxx pumped in 25 points and Geoff Zimmerman added 18 to fuel Staunton River (3-3), which outscored Rustburg 43-31 in the second half.

Rustburg (0-4) got 17 points from Warrick Morgan. \
