OBIT CRAGHEAD, JAMES C.

CRAGHEAD, James C., ("Pete"), 77, of 718 Baltimore Avenue, Bedford, died Monday, January 10, 1994 in Lynchburg Hospital. He was born in Bedford County August 8, 1916, a son of the late James Spencer Craghead and Rosa Ella Wills Craghead. He was preceded in death by a brother, Nelson S. Craghead, and a sister, Martha Christine Craghead. He is survived by his wife, Billie Shufflebarger Craghead; a son, Michael Craghead of Arlington; three brothers, Owen M. Craghead, William F. Craghead, N. Ray Craghead; two sisters, Lucille C. Laughon and Ellen C. Wilkes, all of Bedford. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Greenwood Cemetery at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Dr. Carl H. Douglass Jr. officiating. Memorials may be made to the Bedford Life Saving Crew. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home.
