OBIT BLANKENBECKLER, WILLIAM CLAY
BLANKENBECKLER, William Clay, 82, of Sugar Grove, died Monday, January 10,
1994, in Holston Valley Hospital & Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn. Mr.
Blankenbeckler was born November 12, 1911 and was a native of Sugar Grove. He
was owner of Rye Valley Lumber Company and a member of the Mountain Empire
Antique Tractor Club. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Felts Blankenbeckler
of Sugar Grove; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sidney and Mary Jane
Blankenbeckler of Sugar Grove, Phil and Teresa Blankenbeckler of Radford; one
granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Blankenbeckler of Sugar Grove; one stepgrandson,
Thomas J. Farmer of Cleveland, Va.; one brother, Marvin J. Blankenbeckler of
Sugar Grove; one sister, Zola Wolfe of Marion; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Burial
will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Sugar Grove. Flowers will be accepted or
donations may be made to the Sugar Grove Life Saving Crew. The family will
receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
