Kevin Todd Hall, 31, of the Robinson Tract community, was on the lam for three months last year after he eluded a deputy who was escorting him to a family function and escaped into nearby woods.
He faces charges of escape and other unrelated matters on Feb. 7 in Pulaski County General District Court.
Monday, Circuit Judge Dow Owens reimposed 31/2 years of a four-year prison sentence for a 1987 grand larceny conviction. Hall had been placed on probation after serving six months of the sentence. In September 1992, his probation was continued indefinitely while new charges were pending against him.
Hall, who is serving time in Powhatan Correctional Center, had not filed monthly reports and met with his probation officer as often as required, according to testimony Monday. Hall also incurred new criminal charges and convictions while on probation.
He was convicted in 1992 of possessing marijuana with intent to distribute and sentenced to nine years in prison. Last July, a jury sentenced Hall to 12 years in prison after convicting him of malicious wounding. He has appealed that conviction.
Members of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office found Hall hiding at a trailer last November, about three months after he left a family gathering he had received special permission to attend while a prisoner.
Owens had allowed him out on a $25,000 bond for five hours, stipulating that he be in the presence of a police officer at all times. But Hall left the get-together by making his way out of deputy's sight and apparently escaped into some nearby woods.
Besides answering to the escape charge on Feb. 7, Hall also faces charges of petty larceny, impeding a law officer, possessing a firearm after being convicted of a felony and two counts of malicious wounding.
