Grubb said Michael F. "Noodle" Blevins, 34, of Route 1 in Marion was arrested Thursday after being stopped in his vehicle by police inside the town limits. Seized at the scene was nearly half a pound of cocaine, valued at $20,000, and a 1987 pickup, Grubb said.
Blevins was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, Grubb said.
Smyth County Investigator M.E. Farris said the cocaine seizure was one of the largest ever in Marion.
On the same day, authorities served a search warrant at the residence of Billy J. Blevins on Route 1 in Atkins. Seized at the house were approximately 10 pounds of marijuana, valued at $20,000; a small amount of cocaine; one marijuana plant; two handguns; and a 1986 car, Grubb said.
Billy Blevins was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute more than five pounds of marijuana and possession of cocaine.
Also arrested at the residence were Allen Bradley Schenkman, 30, and Lisa Ann Schenkman, 30, both of Englewood, Fla., Grubb said. They were charged with possession with intent to distribute as well as transporting more than 5 pounds of marijuana into Virginia.
The preliminary hearing for all four is set for March 3 in Smyth County General District Court, Farris said.
