OBIT BYRD, THEE ORIA

BYRD, Thee Oria, 78, of Moneta, passed away Monday, January 10, 1994, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born November 20, 1915, in Franklin County, a son of the late Thomas E. Byrd and Elvira Brown Byrd. His wife was the late Ethel Davis Tuck Byrd. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Radford Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Carl Davis ("C. D.") Byrd, Moneta, Charles O. Byrd, Vinton; a brother, Henry Clay Byrd, Roanoke; two sisters, Sallie Willie Jones, Moneta, Carrie Virginia Arthur, Roanoke; two special cousins, Peggy and Margaret Cassidy, both of Moneta; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 12, 1994, at 2 p.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, by the Rev. Vernon DeLong and Rev. Tommy Floyd. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.
