OBIT LEGARD, LOUISE JOHNSTON

LEGARD, Louise Johnston, 93, of Marion, widow of Edwin N. ("Ned") Legard Sr. died Monday, January 10, 1994 in Birdmont Manor Nursing Home in Wytheville. Mrs. Legard was a retired piano teacher having taught for fifty years and a charter member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by three sons, Walter T. Legard of Bassett, Sam P. Legard, Plantation, Fla. and Edwin N. ("Ned") Legard Jr., Roanoke; one sister, Margaret J. Ellis of Bluefield; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Dr. J. N. Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
