OBIT--BOLLING, ALONZA HOWARD, ("HAP")

BOLLING, Alonza Howard, ("Hap"), 85, of Salem, died Wednesday, January 12, 1994. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the army. He retired from the V.A. Medical Center Salem after 28 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Salem. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys M. Bolling; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Melanie Bolling of Zurich, Switerland, Ronnie and Phyllis Bolling of Vinton; five grandchildren, Mary Bolling of Detroit, Mi., Brian, Sean, and Michael Bolling of Zurich, Switzerland, Lisa Bolling of Vinton, also several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held noon Saturday, January 15, 1994, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem with Rev. R. Stuart Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 1601 Colorado St., Salem or Salem Rescue Squad.
