OBIT--JONAS, FLORENCE MARIE RIELEY

JONAS, Florence Marie Rieley, 78, of Roanoke, formerly of Blue Ridge, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 1994, in a Roanoke Hospital. Mrs. Jonas was born on March 29, 1915, in Bedford Co., the only daughter of the late Delia Crumpacker and Eugene Ernest Rieley of Thaxton. She was an honor graduate of National Business College. She was a former Investment Counselor with Waddell and Reed, and a member of the Thursday Morning Music Club. She was a leader and life-long member of the Blue Ridge Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Jonas was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Ernest Rieley, Jr., and Roy W. Rieley of Thaxton. She is survived by her husband, L.L. Jonas; a daughter, Marcia Jonas Holtzman of Mount Sidney; a son and daughter-in-law, L. Leroy Jonas, Jr. and Katheryn Lehman Jonas, of Annapolis, Md.; one brother, John A. Rieley, Sr., of Thaxton; three granddaughters, Jill K. Holtzman of Chicago, Ill., Anne Marie Jonas and Allison Leigh Jonas of Annapolis, Md.; one grandson, William Todd Holtzman of Blacksburg; four nephews; two nieces. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's North Chapel on Saturday, January 15, 1994, 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Matthew P. Fike officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Church of the Brethren Memorial Fund, Rt 2, Box 30, Blue Ridge, VA 24064. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, at Oakey's North Chapel, Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA.
