WILLIAM H. PARR, son of Duane D. and Nancy J. Parr of 532 Santee Road, has been promoted to lance corporal in the Marines while serving at 29 Palms in California.

Parr, who had graduated with honors from recruit training at Parris Island, S.C., is a 1993 graduate of Northside High School.
