OBIT-BOLLING, ALONZA HOWARD, ("HAP")

BOLLING, Alonza Howard, ("Hap"), 85, of Salem, died Wednesday, January 12, 1994. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the army. He retired from the V.A. Medical Center Salem after 28 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Salem. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys M. Bolling; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Melanie Bolling of Zurich, Switerland, Ronnie and Phyllis Bolling of Vinton; five grandchildren, Mary Bolling of Detroit, Mi., Brian, Sean, and Michael Bolling of Zurich, Switzerland, Lisa Bolling of Vinton; several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held noon Saturday, January 15, 1994, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, with Rev. R. Stuart Carlton officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 1601 Colorado St., Salem or Salem Rescue Squad.
