OBIT-PALMER, WILLIAM EVERETT, ("BILL")

PALMER, William Everett, ("Bill"), 69, of Roanoke County, died Wednesday, January 12, 1994, at his home. He was a marine veteran of World War II, a retired machinist at the N&W Railway and a member and Deacon Emeritus of Cave Spring Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Iris Wertz Palmer; son, Lyle T. Palmer; sister, Ethel Sowder, all of Roanoke County; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Rosemary Palmer of Vinton. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel, 11 a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Rick Elmore and Dr. Woodrow W. Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Cave Spring Rescue Squad or the Benevolent Fund at Cave Spring Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakey's South Chapel.
