OBIT-CONNER, GLADYS B.
CONNER, Gladys B., 79, of 125 Page Street, Floyd, died Wednesday, January
12, 1994, at Friendship Manor Convalescent Center. She was a native of Floyd
County, born October 24, 1914, to Irva and Eliza Burnett. She was a member of
Highland Baptist Church of Ridgeway, Va. Mrs. Conner was a resident of
Ridgeway for 38 years and returned to Floyd in 1990. She and her late husband,
James D. Conner, owned and operated Conner's Garage for 37 years. Survivors
include two sons, John G. Conner, Elliston, Garland D. Conner, Sandy Ridge,
N.C.; one sister, Helen Hylton, Willis; one brother, Lathan Burnett, Newport
News; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at
the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Roberts and the Rev.
Douglas Reed officiating. Burial will be in the Shelor Cemetery, Meadows of
Dan. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Maberry
Funeral Home and at other times at Mrs. Conner's home in Floyd.
