Charlottesville Police Sgt. Gary Pleasants said Wilson was one of three people arrested at 12:56 a.m. The others were Michael Ford, 21, and Brian Lackey, 20, both of Charlottesville.
Pleasants said an officer was in the Garrett Restaurant in "The Corner" area across from the UVa campus when Wilson passed between two people who were playing pool.
"There was bodily contact, words were exchanged, a shoving match ensued and it became a fight," Pleasants said.
UVa coach Jeff Jones would not comment on Wilson's availability for the Cavaliers' game with Duke today.

Defensive lineman Tony Dingle, rated one of the top 25 college football prospects in North Carolina by the Charlotte Observer, has made an oral commitment to Virginia.
Dingle, 6 feet 4 and 265 pounds, was an all-state selection in 1993. He had 78 tackles for Hope Mills Southview High School, the alma mater of UVa freshman fullback Charles Kirby.
Dingle, who said he chose the Cavaliers over Tennessee, has a learning disability and is prepared to go to prep school if he does not meet NCAA qualifying standards on the Scholastic Assessment Test.
Dingle is the seventh player to commit to UVa.
