RADFORD WOMEN GET LOSS IN FINAL SECONDS

Beth Stockwell sank two free throws with three seconds remaining to give Campbell a 66-65 victory over Radford on Friday night in a Big South Conference women's basketball in Buies Creek, N.C.

Stockwell hit the winning free throws after the Highlanders' Pooh Bridges and Shannan Wilkey each missed the front end of a one-and-one in the final 27 seconds.

Lisa Howard led Radford (5-5 overall, 3-1 Big South) with 25 points.

Stockwell paced Campbell (6-4, 2-2) with 16 points and 15 rebounds.

\ Virginia Western CC 127, New River CC 102: In Dublin, Mark Greenburg scored 43 points and Lewis Johnston added 28 as the Blue Stars (2-3) rolled to victory in a men's game.

Leo Wilburn scored 22 points and Chad Owens added 21 for New River (0-1). Thursday's game

\ CUMMINGS SUSPENDED: Lynchburg College coach Joe Davis has suspended Anthony Cummings, a former Cave Spring High School standout, indefinitely.

Cummings, the Hornets' 6-foot-7 captain, was suspended "for actions that I feel are not acceptable as a member of our basketball team," Davis said in a release.

A senior who played for Davis at Cave Spring, Cummings was averaging 17.0 points and 8.3 rebounds for Lynchburg (4-6).
