OBIT-BOWMAN, FRED THOMAS
BOWMAN, Fred Thomas, of Roanoke, died Friday, January 14, 1994 in a
Charlottesville hospital. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean
Conflict. Mr. Bowman received his Masters Degree from the University of
Virginia, was a retired employee of the V. A. Medical Center, and was a member
of Shenandoah Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Elsie Hicks Bowman;
sons, Larry T. Bowman, of Moscow, Kenneth W. Bowman, Charlottesville;
grandson, James V. Bowman, Va. Beach; brothers, Herman Bowman and Roger
Bowman, both of Johnson City, Tenn.; sisters, Anna Bowman, Vinton, Mildred
Bowman, Greenville, Tenn. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday at
Oakey's North Chapel by the Rev. Albin P. Crutchfield Jr. Interment will
follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2
to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 P.m. Sunday, at Oakey's North Chapel.
