OBIT-NANCE, W. WATSON

NANCE, W. Watson, 78, of Rt. 2, Moneta, died Friday, January 14, 1994 in a Roanoke hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Bedford County, December 26, 1915, a son of the late Walter Scott Nance and Sallie Watson Nance. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his son, Lt. Elmer M. Nance. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Martin Nance; two sons, William W. Nance, Vinton, Walter Lewis Nance, Moneta; four brothers, Floyd O. Nance, James G. Nance, both of Moneta, John K. Nance, Modesto, Calif., Laurie B. Nance, Bedford; three sisters, Agnes N. Huddleston, Marion N. Luck, both of Bedford, Gaynelle Gaillard, Indian Wells, Calif.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 1994 at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Howard K. Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Grace Memorial Baptist Church or to the Moneta Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
