HULL, Violet Hill, of 107 South Trolinger, 2601 Warm Hearth Dr.,
Blacksburg, died Tuesday, January 11, 1994, in Radford Community Hospital. She
was born in Manatee County, Fla. on August 27, 1898, youngest daughter of
Charles E. Hill and Belle W. Jones Hill. A pioneer Florida family who came
from Benton, Ill. in 1850. From her earliest years she was a member of the
First Baptist Church of Bradenton, Fla. She was also a past Worthy Grand
Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Bradenton Chapter. Violet Hull was
owner and manager of a dress shop of original designs and later became a
licensed practical nurse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt F.
Hull and her son, Dr. Harry H. Hull of Blacksburg. Survivors include a
daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and Rev. Hallett G. Hullinger; a
daughter-in-law, Dorothy D. Hull; two granddaughters, Elizabeth H. Planansky,
Lexington, Mass. and Jane Hull Strickler, Blacksburg; three grandsons, John
Hull, Minneapolis, Mo., Charles Andrew Hull, Mesa, Ariz., Hallett Hullinger
Jr., Broken Arrow, Okla.; 10 great-grandchildren, Stella, Blake and Cory
Strickler, Jordon and Alexandra Hull, Bennett Hull, Anne, Elizabeth and
Abigail Hullinger and Maria Planansky. Graveside services were held at Drapers
Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 11 a.m. Friday, January 14, 1994, with
the Rev. Hallett G. Hollinger officiating. Memorials may be sent to Warm
Hearth Village Retirement Foundation, 2607 Warm Hearth Dr., Blacksburg, Va.
