It will seek ways to develop job competencies and personal skills to help the students secure permanent and gainful employment after graduation.
The program was proposed last spring in a grant proposal to Project UNITE. Pulaski County will get about $14,000 for the program, and will be able to apply for a second year of funding.
Much of the funding would go toward the position of a job coach, to work with about 25 students during afternoons at school and job sites. The position should be filled in time for the spring semester.
