OBIT CARRIKER, RALPH JACKSON JR.

CARRIKER, Ralph Jackson Jr., 41, of Roanoke, formerly of Bluefield, W. Va., died Thursday, January 13, 1994 at his residence. Born in Roanoke, Va., he was the son of Ralph Jackson Carriker Sr. and Lorene Finch Carriker, both of Bluefield. He was a graduate of Beaver High School and attended the Oak Hill Academy at Mouth of Wilson, Va. He attended the Diamond Hill Baptist Church in the Roanoke area. He was formerly associated with the Bluefield, W. Va. Rescue Squad and the Green Valley Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Williamson Road Masonic Lodge #163 A. F. & A. M. in Roanoke, Va. Survivors, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Shelia Hopkins Carriker of Roanoke; his special friend, Linda Thomas of Roanoke; two sons, Bryan Patrick Carriker and Jonathan Adam Carriker, both of Roanoke; two sisters, Jenny Carriker and Paula Carriker, both of Bluefield, W. Va. Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday at the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel in Bluefield, with Corky Sarver, Jim Godwin and the Rev. Jeff Chadwick officiating. Entombment will follow Monday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, January 22, 1994 at the Community Advent Christian Church in Roanoke, Va. at 2 p.m., with the Rev. T. G. Ayers officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Bluefield Bible Fund, the Union Mission, or the American Diabetic Association.
