STEVE SHELOR of Salem has been promoted to vice president of Rowe Furniture Corp. He joined the company in 1977. In his new position, Shelor is responsible for corporate purchasing and is a member of the manufacturing team.
The Arlington-based company has manufacturing operations in Salem and in Missouri.

PATRICK MADDOX has joined The Maddox Agency in Roanoke as an account executive. He most recently was an account executive with WRUF-FM in North Central Florida and formerly was a direct marketer with the American Automobile Association.
The Maddox Agency is an advertising, media and marketing consulting firm with offices in Roanoke and Richmond.
BURIAL PARKS
RHONDA C. PACK has been hired as office manager of Evergreen Burial Park in Roanoke. She replaces MELISSA LIGHT, who has left Roanoke.
COMMUNICATIONS
MARTHA H. THOMPSON has been promoted to marketing specialist for Western Virginia at C&P Telephone. She will work with customers at small and medium-size businesses. Her geographic market extends from Staunton to Danville and into far Southwest Virginia.
CONSTRUCTION
THOMAS B. JONES, formerly western region director of C&P Telephone, has joined Lionberger Construction Co. as director of construction administration. He will work at the company's main offices on Starkey Road in Roanoke.
\ MARJORIE L. CUNDIFF has been named secretary of Lanford Bros. Co. Inc. She is the human resources officer and is in charge of computer systems at Lanford Bros., where she has worked for eight years.
ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS
DOUGLAS W. SINK and RICHARD C. FURR II have been elected vice presidents of New River Electrical Corp. Sink has held various supervisory positions in his 34 years with the company, the most recent being project manager. In his new position, he is responsible for managing substation construction work in parts of Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky. Furr has been with the company since 1969 and has held several supervisory positions, his most recent also project manager. He will manage the company's industrial and signalization work. Also, joining the company as a project manager is DANNY L. WILLIAMS, who previously worked for Old Dominion Electric Cooperative. He will manage substation and transmission projects for the company in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
New River Electrical Corp. is a Roanoke-based diversified electrical contractor, established in 1953, serving utility, industrial and governmental customers in an 18-state area.

ALTON L. KNIGHTON JR., a partner in the law firm of Woods, Rogers and Hazlegrove, has been elected president of the board of directors of Planned Parenthood of the Blue Ridge Inc. \ CHRISTOPHER SLONE has been named admissions coordinator at Camelot Hall in Salem, a subsidiary of Roanoke-based Medical Facilities of America. He will be responsible for overseeing marketing and public relations at the health care facility.
\ MARK H. DERBYSHIRE, director of Carilion Employee Assistance Program, has been named president of the Virginia Blue Ridge Chapter of the Employee Assistance Professional Association. MEDICINE
DR. KENNETH D. TUCK of Roanoke has been elected to the board of trustees of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Tuck represents the area served by the 6th Congressional District on the Council of the Medical Society of Virginia and is chairman of the legislative affairs committee. He was elected president of the Virginia Society of Ophthalmology in 1984. He has practiced ophthalmology in Roanoke for 29 years.

DORMAN FAWLEY, president of Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley, has been elected to the board of directors of the Child Abuse Prevention Council in Roanoke.
