Jill Batten and C. Trey Shartzer are engaged and planning to be married December 17, 1994 in Roanoke. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack B. Batten. She was graduated from Northside High School in '91, Virginia Western in '93 and is attending Roanoke College. She is employed by First Baptist Church Family Life Center. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Cameron H. Shartzer, Jr. of Roanoke. He was graduated from Cave Spring High School in '92 and is attending Virginia Western. He is employed by the Tanglewood Auto Wash.
