OBIT-HENDERLITE, HARRY MITCHELL

HENDERLITE, Harry Mitchell, 77, of 116 High Street, Dublin, Va., passed away Friday, January 14, 1994, at Radford Community Hosptial. Born April 27, 1916, in Atkins, Va. he was the son of the late Timothy Hopkins Henderlite and Mary Hutton Henderlite. He was a retired employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant with 36 years of service as a shift supervisor. He was a long time member of the Dublin United Methodist Church. He served in many areas of leadership. Most recently he served as a member of the Administrative Board and Chairman of the Church Maintenance Committee. He was one of the original organizer of the Pulaski County Life Saving Crew and also was a former member. He was a life time member of the Dublin Garden Club and former member of the Dublin Ruritan Club. Surviving are his wife, Nannie Emma Simmerman Henderlite; six nieces, Mrs. Katherine Saunders, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Nancy Catron, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Lorraine Johnson, Groseclose, Va., Mrs. Agnes Bailey, Wellsboro, Pa., Mrs. Mary Stadler, Wellsboro, Pa., Mrs. Sam Simmerman, Akron, Ohio; four nephews, Harry Simmerman, Richmond, James Simmerman, Chesapeake, Billy Simmerman, Fairgrove, N.C., Trenton Simmerman, Salem; an adopted son, Ernest Hutton, Jr., Dublin; sister, Nannie Henderlite, Atkins, Va. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 17, 1994, 2 p.m. from the Dublin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard J. Patterson and Rev. Don Sizemore officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va. Visiting will be anytime Sunday after 12 noon until 3 p.m. at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski and Mr. Henderlite will be taken to the Dublin United Methodist Church by 3:30 p.m. where friends may call at anytime and the family will be at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. to receive friends. Friends may also call Monday at the church until the hour of the service or at the home anytime.
