OBIT ALFORD, ROBERT CARROLL
ALFORD, Robert Carroll, ("Big A"), 55, of Rt. 1 Hillsville, passed away
Friday, January 14, 1994 at his home. He worked for Hercules in Quality
Control for 28 years. He was a member of the OCAWIU Local 3-495 AFL-CIO. He
was born August 25, 1938 in Carroll County to Harold Guynn Alford and Edna
Farmer Alford. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Semones Alford; two sons and
daughter-in-law, Eddie and Amy Alford, Galax, Terry Alford, Hillsville;
mother, Edna Farmer Alford, Hillsville; two granddaughters, Mindy Alford,
April Alford, both of Galax. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday,
January 16, 1994 at the Hillsville First Baptist Church, with Dr. William
Gunter officiating. Burial in Monta Vista Memory Gardens, Galax. In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Laurel Rescue Squad.
