OBIT DANNER, MAUDE SMITH

DANNER, Maude Smith, 90, of Shenandoah Manor Nursing Home, Clifton Forge, died Saturday, January 15, 1994, at the nursing home. She was a former resident of Parrish Court in Covington. She was born January 18, 1903, in Covington a daughter of the late Albert J. Smith an Ella Mae Smith Smith. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Covington. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Danner was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Winfree Danner in 1973. She is survived by special sister-in-laws, Marina Smith of Covington and Gladys S. Lawler of Roanoke; two nieces, Carol Smith Marangoni of Castleton, Va. and Charlotte Wolfe Smith of Covington; one nephew, Albert Smith III of Fayetteville, N.C. She is also survived by several great-nephews and a great-niece. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph George and Albert J. Smith Jr. and a sister Lula Smith Wolfe all from the Covington area. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date from the First Presbyterian Church of Covington.
