LAWSON, H. Leland III, 58, of Roanoke, died Saturday, January 15, 1994 at
home. He was born in Roanoke, Va. November 24, 1935, the son of H. L. Lawson
Jr. and Dorothy Towles Lawson. He is survived by a son, Harry L. Lawson IV,
Richmond; two daughters, Laura Harding Lawson, Richmond, Christin Carr Lawson,
Lynchburg; and his former wife, Carole Harding Stalling, Lynchburg. Also
surviving are brothers, Thomas T. Lawson, Daleville, Richard G. Lawson,
Montvale; and a sister, Linda L. Thornton, Fincastle. He was a graduate of The
Episcopal High School and of Virginia Tech. He was a member of the board of
directors and former president of H. L. Lawson & Son, Inc. He was a former
member of the board of directors of the Virginia State Golf Association and
was a member of the Roanoke German Club. The Rev. Gene B. Edmunds, associate
pastor of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church, will conduct a graveside service
at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 1994, at Evergreen Cemetery, Roanoke.
The family will receive friends at Oakey's Downtown Chapel on Monday from 5 to
7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be
made to The Episcopal High School, 1200 North Quaker Lane, Alexandria, Va.
