OBIT-LAM, SARAH VIRGINIA CAMPBELL

LAM, Sarah Virginia Campbell, 73, of Lexington, died Sunday, January 16, 1994 in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 13, 1920 in Amherst, a daughter of the late Judge Clarence Jackson and Minnie C. Campbell. Subsequent to attending Blackstone College, she was employed by the Rockbridge National Bank. She was also a member of the Lexington Garden Club. Mrs. Lam was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church and prior president of the Women of the Church. She is survived by her husband, James Caldwell Lam, Lexington; three children, James Caldwell Lam Jr., Virginia Beach, Robert Campbell Lam, Oakton, and Deborah Virginia Tinsley, Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, John, Virginia, Robert and Caroline. Funeral services will be conducted in the Williams Funeral Service Chapel, Lexington, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 1994, with Dr. L. Randolph Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Timber Ridge ARP Church Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with Mrs. Lam's family at her home on Monday, January 17, 1994 from 3 to 5 p.m and 7:30 to 9 p.m. Those wishing to may also pay their respects at the funeral home. In lieu of floral remembrances, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lexington Presbyterian Church Handbell Choir, 120 S. Main St., Lexington.
