OBIT-BOWYER, GARLAND M., ("RED")

BOWYER, Garland M., ("Red"), 63, of Troutville, died Saturday, January 15, 1994, in a local hospital. He was a member of Cave Rock Baptist Church and was retired from Dominion Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Edna Bowyer; sister, Judy Cayton. Surviving are his wife, Anna Utt Bowyer; two daughters and son-in-law, Loretta and Bob Lewin, Tenn., Cinae Bowyer Russell, Fincastle; sons and daughters-in-law, Clifton and Rebecca Bowyer, Ft. Hood, Texas, Dennis and Astra Bowyer, Roanoke; three grandchildren, Kevin Lewin, Guy Grundman, Sarah Bowyer; one great-grandchild; one sister, Patricia Ballard, Roanoke; five brothers, Gene Bowyer, Texas, Carroll Bowyer, Troutville, Norville Bowyer, Don Bowyer, Jack Bowyer all of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 1994, with the Rev. John McKinney and the Rev. Juan E. Barr officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Oakey's North Chapel Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Troutville Rescue Squad.
