NAMES ON CAMPUS

JAMES STEWART, director of technology assistance and transfer, has received a certificate from James McComas, former president of Virginia Tech, and April Young, director of the department of economic development, for completing the Community Economic Basic Course at the Virginia Institute for Economic Development.

\ BRUCE BROWN, professor of business management, received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies during Virginia Tech's fall commencement ceremonies. He also holds a master's of science degree in business administration from Radford University and a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Virginia Tech.

\ RONALD CHAFFIN, director of continuing education, attended the National Council on Community Service and Continuing Education National Conference in Denver, Colo., in October.

\ KEITH WEBB and BARRY WHITTEMORE, adjunct history instructors, have been elected members of the 1994 Apalachian Studies Conference Program Committee.

\ TAYLOR COLE of Blacksburg has recently been appointed to the college's Educational Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization that secures voluntary support for the school. Cole is a New Orleans, La., native, and grew up in Lexington. He graduated from Washington and Lee University and later from Duke University.
