OBIT-PHILLIPS, GROVER WILLIAM

PHILLIPS, Grover William, 69, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, January 15, 1994, at the V.A. Medical Center in Salem. Mr. Phillips was born in Carroll County, Virginia on November 8, 1924, a son of the late Cornelius Phillips and Lomie Phillips Quesenberry. He was preceded in death by a half brother, Carson Quesenberry. Surviving are one daughter, Patricia P. Altice, Roanoke; three sons, Darrell Wayne Phillips, Ronald Bruce Phillips, and Randy Melvin Phillips, all of Roanoke; four sisters, Icy P. Jarrell and Hattie P. Matherly, both of Blacksburg, Ivory P. Graves, Salem, Avis P. Shaver, Pearisburg; one brother, Genice V. Phillips, Shawsville; a special sister-in-law, Edith Phillips, Shawsville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 1994, at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Layne Board and the Rev. E. H. Shaver officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
