OBIT-CARVER, HERBERT ALEXANDER SR.

CARVER, Herbert Alexander Sr., 69, of Lexington, died Sunday, January 16, 1994, at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. Mr. Carver was born in Richmond, VA, on June 4, 1924, a son of the late Dabney Clark Carver, III, and Ada Harris Carver. He was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church, the Knights of Pythias, a mason with the Mountain City Lodge #67 A.F. & A.M., a member of the 99th Infantry Division Association, the Disabled American Veterans, and was a retired Service Manager with Woody Chevrolet Sales in Lexington. Surviving are his wife Aileen Bradley Carver, Lexington; two sons, Herbert A. Carver, Jr., Richmond, Bradley L. Carver, Pawleys Island, SC; a brother, Dabney C. Carver, IV, Lexington; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 19, 1994, at 11 a.m. at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chip Pendleton officiating with burial to follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rockbridge Area Free Clinic, P.O. Box 1573, Lexington, VA 2450. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
