ELI LILLY TO SPIN OFF 6 SUBSIDIARIES

Eli Lilly & Co. said Tuesday that it will transfer six subsidiaries that produce medical devices to a separate holding company and spin off the new company to the public by the end of the year.

Lilly, a $6 billion health-care company based in Indianapolis, said the move is part of plan to restructure operations and concentrate on its pharmaceutical business.
