OBIT EWING, JOHN MACKEY
EWING, John Mackey, 83, of Lexington, died Tuesday, January 18, 1994 at his
residence. Mr. Ewing was born in Rockbridge Co., on January 15, 1911, a son of
the late John Emmett Ewing and Annie Jane Mackey Ewing. He owned and operated
the Ewing Studio for 35 years, was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian
Church and attended the Manly Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife
of 61 years, Rebecca Jeanette Craft Ewing, Lexington; three daughters and
sons-in-law, Ann E. and Luther Saunders, Lexington, Mary Jane E. and Paul
Barrett, Roanoke, Janet Sue Ewing and Alan Stamp, Staunton; 6 3/4
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be
conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 1994, at the Harrison Funeral Chapel
with the Rev. Will Hamric officiating. Burial to follow in the Oxford
Presbyterian Cemetery, Lexington. The family will receive friends Wednesday
night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
