VOLUNTEER EMERGENCY GROUP INSTALLS OFFICERS

Larry Wirt recently was installed as president of the Roanoke County Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad No. 5 Hollins Inc.

Other organization officers: Willis Buchanan, vice president; Suzanne Huddleston, secretary; Joyce Harper, treasurer; and Anna Snider, chaplain.

Rescue officers are: Emily Trotten, rescue chief; Mark Williams, rescue captain; Danny Snider, first lieutenant; Wayne Guffey, second lieutenant; and Sandy Guffey, training lieutenant.

Fire officers are: Frank Stebbins, fire chief; Mike Divers, assistant fire chief; Jerry Thompson, deputy fire chief; Scott Graham, fire captain; and Dean Peroulas, training lieutenant.

Brian Witt will serve as equipment lieutenant.

Willis "Buck" Buchanan received a special award for 25 years of service to the organization and community, and David Jones received the 1993 Fire Member of the Year Award.
