OBIT NOLEN, ESTELLE GUSTY ATKINS

NOLEN, Estelle Gusty Atkins, 75, of Route 3, Ferrum, Va. died Wednesday, January 19, 1994, at Roanoke Community Hospital. She was born April 18, 1918, the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Cannaday Atkins. Her husband was the late Roy Nolen who died in 1981. Mrs. Nolen is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Charlie Lee Adkins of Ferrum, Va.; daughter-in-law, Sharon Nolen of Ridgeway, Va.; two sisters, Gertrue Trail of Martinsville, Va. and Nolen Allen of Floyd, Va.; six grandchildren, Mitch Nolen of Martinsville, Va., Carl Nolen of Collinsville, Va., Carmen Solomon of Knoxville, Tenn., Gail Arrington of Glade Hill, Va., Lisa Dillon of Rocky Mount, Va. and Mike Nolen of Syracuse, N.Y.; also seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 21, 1994, 2 p.m. in Lynch Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Etholene Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Church Cemetery in Ferrum, Va. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 1994, at Lynch Funeral Home in Rocky Mount, Va. where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ferrum Rescue Squad, Ferrum, Va. 24088.
