OBIT WATSON, JAMES MERRILL
WATSON, James Merrill, 80, of Route 1, Montvale, passed away Tuesday,
January 18, 1994, in the Bedford County Nursing Home. He was born August 3,
1913, in Bedford County, a son of the late J. Homer Watson and Bertha Waldron
Watson. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He is survived by two
sisters, Frances Watson Thrasher, Roanoke; Jeanne Watson Williamson, Montvale;
five nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
conducted Friday, January 21, 1994, at 11 a.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel,
Bedford, by Dr. William Vest. Interment will follow in the Montvale
Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 2 to
4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford, and request that in lieu of
flowers, memorials be made to the mission program at the Mt. Zion Baptist
Church, Montvale, Va.
