OBIT THOMPSON, WARREN WESLEY
THOMPSON, Warren Wesley, ("Jinks"), 68, of Dallas, Texas, died Saturday,
January 15, 1994, in a Dallas hospital. He was born in Christiansburg, the son
of the late Elbert D. and Fannie Woolwine Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a retired
brick mason and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He is
survived by two sons, Ronald W. Thompson, Salem; Michael W. Thompson, Atlanta,
Ga.; two daughters, Claudia Kaye Simpson, Roanoke, Judy E. Thompson,
Chesapeake, Va.; three sisters, Leona Willett, and Frances Boyd, both of
Roanoke, Louise Bain, Kingston, N.J.; three brothers, Raymond Thompson, Salem,
Jerry Thompson, Roanoke, and Herbert Thompson, Marion, Ind.; seven
grandchildren; a special friend, Wynne McKay. Funeral services will be
conducted 1 p.m. Thursday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, by
Father Ken Stofft. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will
receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions will be made to the American Lung Association of
Roanoke. John M. Oakey & Son in Salem is in charge of local arrangements.
