\ ARMY SPEC. GREGORY S. JONES, son of Francis Waters of 2637 Macon St., Salem, recently reported for duty at Tayor Barracks, Mannheim, Germany.
\ \ ARMY SGT. MAJ. ROBERT J. LOVELACE of Salem recently received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award during a retirement ceremony held in his honor.
Lovelace has spent more than 42 years in government service, including 37 years in the 2147th U.S. Army Garrison, serving stateside during World War II from 1944 to 1946.
He also served in the 80th Division Army Reserve Program.
