OBIT MCPEAK, ARCHIE ALFRED

McPEAK, Archie Alfred, 80, of Rt. 1, Hiwassee, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 1994, in Radford Community Hospital. Born April 3, 1913, in Carroll County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Benjamin Emmett McPeak and Annis Quesenberry McPeak. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ocie Ellen Sutphin McPeak; a daughter, Fleecie Geneva McPeak; a sister, Flora Trail and three brothers, Erbie, Rollie and Covie McPeak. He was a retired carpenter with the George Hyman Construction Co. of Washington, D.C. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Levi (Reba) Smith, Dugspur, Mrs. Luther (Dorothy) Thompson, Hiwassee, Mrs. Stella Harden, Bland, Mrs. Wayne (Lake) Jenkins, Berkley Springs, W.Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Daphine McPeak, Herndon; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Woods, Calverton, Mrs. Dana Peer, Lena; two brothers, Truman McPeak, Hiwassee, Warren McPeak, Annandale; caretakers, (granddaughter) Ann and Kenny Mitchell, Hiwassee, and Cecil Lawson, Pulaski. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, from the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. J. B. Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the McPeak Family Cemetery, Hiwassee. Visitation will be anytime Friday after 3:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski, or friends may call at the home at anytime. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, is handling the arrangements.
