OBIT FLORA, MAE GOGGIN

FLORA, Mae Goggin, 93, of Boones Mill, died Tuesday, January 18, 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Flora, with whom she operated the Flora Grocery Co. in Boones Mill for 54 years. She was a member of Boones Mill Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Tharon Linder, Mobile, Ala., Janet Manuel, Mt. Gilead, N.C., Judy Reubush, Anna Marie, Fla.; four sons, Kenneth Flora, Roanoke, Kyle Flora, Danville, Boyce Flora, Glen Burnie, Md., Gayle Flora, Roanoke; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one brother, Henry P. Goggin, Vinton; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. James Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke. The family suggests memorials be made to Boones Mill Baptist Church, P.O. Box 230, Boones Mill, Va. 24065. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Flora Funeral Service, 342 South Main St., Rocky Mount.
