OBIT POTTER, HESTER BOUSMAN
POTTER, Hester Bousman, 80, of Rt. 2 Penhook, died Friday, January 21,
1994, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Potter was preceded in death by her
husband, A. Ralph Potter on September 18, 1993; her parents, Boyd and Lula
Bousman; and a sister, Ethel Davidson. She was a member of the Forrest Hill
Christian Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Ronald
Matherly, Penhook; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Kenneth W. Potter,
Concord, N.C., Dennis and Peggy Potter, Glade Hill, Joe and Peggy Potter,
Martinsville, Calbert and Gale Potter, Rocky Mount; 11 grandchildren, one
great-granchild; two sisters, Mary Potter, Rocky Mount, and Sadie Law,
Penhook; two brothers, Walter Bousman and Oscar Bousman, both of Penhook;
several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Sunday in Flora Funeral Chapel with Minister Ted R. Clifton officiating.
Interment will follow in the Potter Family Cemetery. Those desiring to may
make memorials to the Snow Creek Rescue Squad. Friends may call after 3 p.m.
Saturday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Flora Funeral
service, 342 South Main St., Rocky Mount.
