OBIT MAYS, CHARLES ROBERT
MAYS, Charles Robert, ("Bobby"), 63, of Lexington, died Thursday, January
20, 1994 at his residence. Born May 24, 1930 in Lexington, Va., he was the son
of the late James William Mays and Pearl Knick Mays. He was a member of the
Ebenezer A. R. P. Church and a retired agent for Metropolitian Life Insurance
Co. Mr. Mays is survived by his wife, Ruth Ruley Mays, Lexington; one
daughter, Lisa Annette Mays, Lexington; two sons, Robert Thomas Mays,
Lexington, David Mark Mays, Lexington; three sisters, Daisy M. McDaniel,
Natural Bridge, Kathleen M. Shannon, Roanoke, Dorothy M. Wills, Virginia
Beach; three brothers, Clarence J. Mays, Carl H. Mays, James E. Mays, all of
Lexington; one grandson, Jason C. Mays, Lexington; one granddaughter, Cherie
N. Mays, Lexington. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, January
23, 1994 from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Robert K. Wilson
officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with military
graveside rites by V. F. W. and the American Legion. The family will receive
friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Harrison Funeral Home.
