LITZ-MARKHAM

Jennifer Leigh Markham and William Jackson Litz, III were married Saturday, January 1, 1994, at Lithia Baptist Church in Buchanan. The Rev. H. Ed Nicholson officiated. The reception was held at the Buchanan Community House.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd M. Markham of Buchanan. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Elizabeth D. Markham and the late R.C. Markham of Buchanan and the late Mr. and Mrs.Ernest J. Abshire, Jr. of Troutville. She was graduated from James River High School and Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics. She is pursuing a Masters of Education degree in the area of College Student Personnel Administration and working at James MadisonUniversity in Harrisonburg.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Litz, Jr. of Kingsport, Tenn. He is the grandson of Mrs. R.E. Dangerfield and the late R.E. Dangerfield and the late Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Litz, Sr., all of Bluefield. He was graduated from Sullivan South High School in Kingsport and Auburn University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He is pursuing a law degree atWashington and Lee University.

The bride wore a traditional full length gown with sweetheart neckline,Juliet sleeves and a cathedral train. The champagne-colored gown was accented with seed pearls and a back bow. The bride wore a strand of pearls with garnet enhancer and matching pearl anddiamond earrings. The set was her engagement gift from the groom. The bride was attended by Kathy Olsen, Jenny Campbell and Terri Gravely, her former college roommates.

The father of the groom was the best man. Groomsmen were John Litz and James Litz, brothers of the groom, and Jason Markham, brother of the bride.

Ellen Abshire, cousin of the bride, was the reader. A program of music for the wedding and reception was provided by C. Lee Morris. Vocalists for the wedding were Cindy Downs and Tommy Dowdy, cousins of the bride, and David Austin. The wedding was directed by BethParker.

Following a wedding trip to Mountain Lake Resort, the couple is residing in Staunton.
