Carroll County (2-7) was ahead by six points with two minutes left in the game, but Casey Underwood and Ricky Clark made consecutive 3-point shots for Radford (4-6) to tie the score 53-all.
Willie Bryant of Carroll County and Clark traded baskets in the final minute before a Cavaliers turnover set up Brightwell's winning basket on a breakaway.
Underwood led the Bobcats with 15 points, and John Wolford pumped in 20 for Carroll County. \

\ Grayson County 71, Giles 56: At Independence, Bryan Boyer scored a game-high 25 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had three steals as the Blue Devils whipped the Spartans in a Mountain Empire District game.
Giles (1-6, 1-4) led 29-28 at halftime, but Boyer scored 10 points in the third period as Grayson County (11-2, 9-1) retook the lead.
Aaron Myers led the Spartans with 22 points. \
Floyd County 80, Rocky Gap 48: At Floyd, Jason Light had 26 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks as the Buffaloes stomped the Eagles in a Mountain Empire District matchup.
Floyd County (8-1, 7-1) led 47-18 at halftime and coasted to victory.
Kevin DeHart led Rocky Gap with 13 points. \
Auburn 91, Shawsville 49: At Riner, Terry Millirons scored 25 points, and Jon Reed added 16 as the Eagles blasted the Shawnees in a Mountain Empire District game.

Auburn (9-2, 8-1) sprinted to a 20-7 lead after one quarter and kept extending its margin. \
William Byrd 86, Christiansburg 56: Donald Childress and Jeremy Obenchain each connected on 9-of-11 field-goal attempts as the Terriers romped in a non-conference game.
Childress scored a game-high 20 points and Obenchain added 19 points and eight rebounds. Paul Phillips led Christiansburg (7-7) with 15 points.
Byrd (6-4) used a 26-13 second quarter to take control of the game.
\ Northside 61, Blacksburg 58: At Blacksburg, the Indians' upset bid came up short in overtime as the Vikings won the non-district game at the free-throw line.
Northside (11-1) hit 22 of 36 free throws to 13-of-21 shooting for Blacksburg (3-6).
Nathan Hungate led the Vikings with 14 points, and Justin Porterfield added 14.
Ben Araman had a game-high 24 points, and Tony Wheeler scored 17 for the Indians. \
