Brett Matthews won the 800 and Chris Williams took first in the pole vault as the Hokies beat second-place Virginia by 75 points in the 16-team field. Salem High School graduate Keith Moyer finished third in the 200 and fifth in the 55.
Michelle Barrett won the women's 5,000, leading Tech to a second-place finish overall - 62 points behind first-place Virginia in the 12-team field.

In Lynchburg, Dante Winslow of Virginia Tech won the 158-pound title at the Division I state wrestling tournament.
It was Winslow's second consecutive state title, making him the only Tech wrestler to win consecutive state championships and the second Hokie to win two state titles.
Old Dominion won the team championship, defeating VMI 107.5-106.0. George Mason was third, followed by James Madison, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Liberty and William and Mary.
